  The one star i am providing here is far too great a compliment. I have rented several properties fro different agencies and in different countries, and JSM is by far the most incompetent, money orientated, non existent agency i have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Their incompetence is so profound that they send my forms to sign that do not bear my name and then never get back to me over the matter, in three years with them i have never missed a single rent date, yet the one time i did (by computer error) they phoned me the next morning, whilst in an other country. This was in fact the only time they ever phoned me, and when i try to contact them they are unreachable, i wish i had a job with JSM so that i could be paid to do nothing.

  About April 2012 I attempted to rent a house through JSM Management on behalf of my son. The young woman who showed me the property was pleasant enough but when I went into the office to rent the property they were evasive and odd, and I was confident at that point that they didn't want to rent to me. I don't know why that would be, although I suspect it is because I mentioned that I am a landlord myself which would mean I know all the rules regarding tenancies, but that is just a guess. I contacted then at least twice more about the house, although I was resigned to the fact that I wasn't going to get it and looked elsewhere. Lucky I did, because I simply never heard from them again. Six weeks later I saw the house had been let, and put in a complaint about their incredible bad manners first to the Norwich Office and then to the head office. Both responses contained outright lies about what had happened, including their claim that, "they had left me a telephone message saying the landlord had chosen another applicant". Firstly they if they had left a message I would have got it - I get all my other messages. Secondly leaving a phone message after keeping someone waiting weeks is hardly acceptable customer service. Thirdly, since they had never actually taken an application from me they had no details from which the landlord could have decided whether or not I would be an acceptable tenant. Since then I have found I probably had a lucky escape as they have some unreasonable practices, such as insisting in their tenancy agreements that the tenant must change to an energy supplier or their choosing, (and who no doubt pays them a kickback). Find another agent if you can and don't do business with these people.
